New Oracle of the Green Rose Pioneer Rowshan Reordan - The Tower
Rowshan began her company Green Leaf Lab with an inspiration to help loved ones access clean medicine, free of any pesticides, mold, or heavy metals. She had a dear friend addressing symptoms of HIV and at the time, found that the canna available on the market was not lab tested. She knew that untested flower material from an unknown cultivator could be dangerous if pesticides or chemicals had been used to fight infestations or if the flower was not properly cured or stored leading to mold.
Starting a new testing lab in the canna industry can be a rough road where corporate and consumer interests often influence reported results. Many businesses have crops that depend on a passing grade for lab tests and consumers often seek out higher active levels for example. As a result, Certified lab data that incorrectly inflates results or falsely indicates that pesticides are present within safe levels can translate to financial solvency for the owner of the canopy.
We’ve included the word “disruptor” in Persian to pay homage to Rowshan's Persian heritage and the women thereof who stood as strong leaders in business and beyond. In startup culture, one can have a big advantage if their business disrupts the status quo with a new technology or ideology. Rowshan and Green Leaf Lab made a significant impact in the industry opening locations across borders with an impressive financial raise.
For Rowshan and her team, the tower “moment” so to speak where old, outdated corrupt structures came crumbling was when Rowshan took a stand. She worked closely with Oregon state regulators to establish robust safety protocols for licensed manufacturers in Oregon, whereby Oregon became a precedent for other states to follow.
In all her business dealings, Rowshan advocates for women to overcome obstacles by supporting access to resources necessary for commercial success including business education or by creating a space for gender equity in the workplace. Perhaps Rowshan’s greatest contribution is simply leading by example and serving as a role model for what is possible through resiliency and noble endeavors.
Numbered 16 in the Tarot, the tower is the breakdown of corrupt forces followed by number 17 - the Star, a card of healing and recovery. The tower creates space for more beneficent forces to arise.
Rowshan shines such a bright light in the world and her care for vulnerable members of our society warrants recognition. In the art for her pioneer card, we incorporated a starburst flare from a photo of her that we really enjoyed and then some open hearts to mimic her expression of compassion.
And of course, Snakey is Ms. Reordan’s life long companion.
We all have those who stand with us through the tests of time and help us to break through the rubble to see a brighter future after a “tower” experience.
