More Good News About CBD
Recent research findings point to the anticancer effects of Cannabidiol (CBD). A 2022 Biology journal article describes mechanisms of CBD in cancer treatment. These positive effects are brought about mainly through CBD’s interaction with the body’s endocannabinoid system.
The widely known beneficial effects of CBD include pain relief and reduction of chemotherapy side effects. CBD has also been found to be effective for promotion of immune-cell regulation.
In a laboratory study using lung cancer cell lines, CBD reduced the size of tumors and metastatic nodules. In a study using breast cancer cell lines, CBD inhibited cancer blood vessel formation.
More research on CBD as part of cancer treatments is warranted. Future patient acceptance of its use in treatment is expected to be broad as CBD is non-intoxicating and is generally safe and well-tolerated.
